Why I Haven’t Released New Handmade Ravewear Since Moving to Colorado

If you’ve been following RavePositive for a while, you may have noticed something: I haven’t released many new handmade ravewear pieces since moving to Colorado.
For years, creating handmade festival outfits, custom rave clothing, kandi jewelry, and one-of-a-kind festival fashion was my entire life. Sewing late into the night, designing new collections, and getting ready for festivals used to be my everyday routine. RavePositive was built from my love for the rave community, self-expression, EDM culture, and American handmade goods.
Then life changed in the best possible way: I became a mom.
Balancing Motherhood and a Handmade Ravewear Business
Since having my daughter, most of my energy has gone toward being present for her. Anyone who runs a small handmade business knows how much time and focus goes into creating products from scratch — especially handmade rave outfits and jewelry.
Between breastfeeding, contact naps, sleepless nights, and learning how to balance motherhood with entrepreneurship, my sewing machine has spent more time quiet than running lately.
Moving to Colorado added another huge transition on top of that. Starting over in a new state while raising a baby has honestly been overwhelming at times. My creativity never disappeared, but finding uninterrupted time to design and sew became difficult.
That’s one reason I’ve been slower with releasing new ravewear collections and handmade kandi jewelry.
But I haven’t lost my passion for it.
Not even close.
My First Colorado Rave: Seven Lions at Red Rocks
This Memorial Day weekend, something really special is happening: I’m finally going to my first Red Rocks Rave since moving back to Colorado.
I’ll be seeing Seven Lions at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which honestly feels surreal.
Red Rocks has been put back on my bucket list since I moved back to Colorado. Between the mountains, the energy, and the music, it feels like the perfect way to reconnect with myself and the rave community again after such a huge life transition.
And for the first time in months, I’ll actually get a small break for one night thanks to my little sister babysitting my daughter.
I’m emotional even typing that.
If you’re a mom, you probably understand how strange it feels to be both excited and nervous to leave your baby for the night. But I also know reconnecting with myself creatively and socially matters too.
Designing My Electric Forest Outfit Again
One thing that has returned recently is inspiration.
I’m currently designing my Electric Forest outfit, and for the first time in a long time, I genuinely feel creatively excited again.
Sketching ideas, planning fabrics, thinking about silhouettes, textures, kandi, and accessories — it reminds me why I started RavePositive in the first place.
Festival fashion has always been more than clothing to me. It’s wearable art. It’s confidence. It’s escapism. It’s community.
And honestly? Designing ravewear again feels like reconnecting with a piece of myself that’s been sleeping for a while.
Going to Electric Forest as a Mom
Another huge thing happening this year: I’m going to Electric Forest.
And I’m only able to go because Grandma will be watching the baby while I’m away.
It truly takes a village.
I know some people think becoming a parent means giving up the parts of yourself you loved before, but I don’t believe that anymore. I think it just changes the way you experience them.
I’m still a mom.
But I’m also still someone who loves EDM festivals, handmade rave fashion, kandi culture, creativity, and self-expression.
Both versions of me can exist together.
The Future of RavePositive
Even though I’ve been quieter lately, RavePositive Handmade Ravewear & Festival Clothing is not gone.
If anything, this season of life is changing the brand into something even more meaningful.
I still want to create handmade rave outfits, custom festival clothing, kandi jewelry, and unique accessories that help people feel confident and magical at festivals like Electric Forest, Lost Lands, EDC, Beyond Wonderland, and Red Rocks shows.
The ideas are still there.
The passion is still there.
Life just looks a little different now.
Thank you to everyone who has continued supporting small businesses, handmade American goods, and independent ravewear creators during this chapter of my life. It truly means everything to me.
And hopefully… this next era of RavePositive will be the most inspired one yet.
